As part of one particularly busy weekend in May, I spent an evening in Kendal photographing participants in CancerCare’s annual fundraising ‘Star Walk‘.
With most of the walkers (and runners) festooned in pink wigs, feather bowers and hats etc, it made for some great pictures! There was a wonderful atmosphere, not least when the Robbie Williams tribute act took to the stage for a warm up. The runners set off into the darkness first, followed by, at a more leisurely pace, the walkers. I waited to snap the first runners to return. This was one event I particularly enjoyed working at, which took me right back to my press days.
This was the first time I had been involved with this event, which I really enjoyed. As with the Animal Care event, 20% of photo sales takings are being donated to the charity.
I’m delighted to see that the gallery on my website has had an amazing 2300 hits so far! See all the photos here.
