I’ve just been booked for my third civil partnership, which takes place next month at the beautiful (and much photographed) Ashton Memorial in Lancaster.  Practically identical to a civil marriage ceremony, the event has all the emotion of a wedding and given it’s relatively recent introduction is all the more poignant.civil partneship ceremony

The next and fast approaching step for gay couples is to be able to call it a ‘wedding’ and have it conducted in a church. Whilst not all couples would choose this option, it is vitally important for gay partners desiring a religious ceremony to feel ‘fully equal’ to hetrosexual couples. I feel the next few years will be interesting and I very much look forward to being a part of the journey…
